Free Help Available This Mother’s Day for Oklahoma Moms Ready To Quit Tobacco

OKLAHOMA CITY (May 6, 2026) — This Mother’s Day, the Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline is reminding moms across Oklahoma that quitting tobacco is possible and FREE help is available when they’re ready.

Quitting tobacco can improve health, save money and help create a healthier home for families. It can also reduce exposure to secondhand smoke for children and others in the household.

Whatever a person’s reasons for quitting, the Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline offers FREE tools and support to help them take the next step. People who use the Helpline are more than three times as likely to successfully quit compared to trying on their own.

For Glenpool mom Candace, quitting tobacco meant creating a healthier future for her family. She started smoking when she was 19, but with support and FREE patches from the Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline, she was able to quit for good.

“I am most proud about quitting smoking because my children will never remember me as a cigarette smoker,” said Candace.

This Mother’s Day, the Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline encourages moms who have thought about quitting to know they do not have to do it alone. FREE support includes:

  • Patches, gum or lozenges
    • One-on-one Coaching
    • A personalized quit plan
