More Oklahomans Turn to TSET’s Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline as Quit Success Rises

New report shows growing demand and strong outcomes as TSET works to improve health across the state

OKLAHOMA CITY (Dec. 10, 2025)The Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline, a program of the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET), reported another year of strong results in its latest annual report. The Helpline recorded 27,518 registrations, marking the fourth year in a row of increased demand and showing how many Oklahomans want support for a healthier, tobacco-free life.

The report also highlighted the continued success of Helpline registrants. During follow-up calls seven months after enrolling, 45.4% of registrants reported going 30 days or more without using tobacco. This success rate exceeds the North American Quitline Consortium benchmark quit rate of 30%, and proves the Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline performs better than most quitlines across the country.

“This work highlights how the Helpline makes quitting tobacco possible for people across our state,” said TSET Executive Director Julie Bisbee. “Investing in these services strengthens the health and well-being of our state and helps save future health care dollars. That work is at the heart of TSET’s mission.”

The Helpline offers meaningful support to Oklahomans seeking to quit tobacco use. Ninety-six percent of registrants reported they were very, mostly or somewhat satisfied with the help they received. The report also showed more people who exclusively vape are turning to the Helpline for quit support than before. This group now makes up nearly 17% of registrants.
