Smokeless Tobacco Contains at Least 28 Cancer Causing Chemicals.

Smokeless tobacco is a tobacco product that is not burned. It includes chewing tobacco, dip, and snuff. At least 28 chemicals in these products have been found to cause cancers, including:

  • Esophageal cancer
  • Mouth cancer
  • Pancreatic cancer

Smokeless tobacco causes tooth decay in exposed tooth roots and may cause your gums to pull away from your teeth. If this happens, your gums will not grow back. Leathery white patches and red sores are common in dippers and chewers, and these injuries can eventually turn into cancer.

But that’s not all. Recent research shows that’s smokeless tobacco might also cause problems beyond the mouth. Scientists are looking at the possibility that using smokeless tobacco might play a role in causing heart disease and stroke.
